Nacho stands up during one of the shorts in the middle.

I can see!!!  I! Can! See!  For the first time in years, people, the veil of drugs has been lifted from mine eyes!  I understand!  That short is so deep!!

Now if only my right ear would recover I could appreciate the stereo mix.

I think you're projecting!

How are your speakers btw?  Wonderful and magical now?

That whole post was intended to be from Nacho's point of view; sorry that was unclear.

my speakers might be another 3+ weeks.

My latest correspondence, April 14th:

The woofers are complete with just some of the design work left.

I'm making some headway on your Celestions. I hope to have the design
finalized within about two weeks. Sorry, I'm running a little behind what I
had expected.

I got that.  I was sort of making fun of your obsession with music/sound and that even though you were writing from Nacho's perspective, you included something that you would care intensely about.  But a joke I have to explain...

Crazy.  I hope it's all worth it in the end.

Nacho's the one with the surround system.  He's pretty sore about it.  I'd only lose one channel; he's losing more than two.

It'll be worth it or I'll die.  OMG, don't think that.  I really don't want to go speaker shopping now.  Although I will say one thing for having borrowed my friend's speakers: they've really lowered the bar for how cheap and nasty a stereo I can put up with.  That is, I probably wouldn't have to spend $$$ right now; I could just buy a pair under $1k and they'd be better than what I've got now.  I could be done with it for a year or two and buy the fancy ones at my leisure.

Yeah, I'm really aware of how things sound now, because I'm mainly hearing out of my left ear.  A few weird, popping echoes in my right ear, but that's it.  And that'll be the story for a month.  Or more.

As my right ear improves, it'll start to airplane-pop constantly.  I'm continually warned to stay cool, it'll go away, but it's going to be hard to deal with.  Day and night -- pop, pop, pop -- for weeks.

I wonder if that will be more or less difficult to deal with than the pain.  You were used to the pain, but this sounds like water torture.

That's perfect, actually.  We should look into a little party of sorts, no?  Wheel me out in the antique wheelchair.  I'll have my legs covered in a blanket and be wearing a white fedora, sunglasses, head wrapped in gauze.

"Who's that?"

"Sshhh."

Do we have one?  I might be able to find a wheelchair, but not an antique.
