which, really, is stupid.  they should've known that there would be backlash.  why not even reach out to obama and tell him about it first?  i guarantee if they had told him before announcing it he would've turned it down.  it's like giving tom hanks an oscar because Variety just announced he was going to play Lou Gehrig in a biopic or something.
